It’s my Joovv Red Light!
I know, another gadget BUT I’m hooked!
What I noticed right away after using the Joovv Red Light therapy was deeper sleep! I’m always on the quest for better sleep and this remarkable increase in my sleep was almost immediate! I love to travel and explore the World, but I miss my Joovv light when I am away from home!
What really got me interested in Red Light Therapy was all the benefits for healing that it claims to help with. I originally wanted one for Craig and healing his Lyme Disease. Then I heard it could help with collagen and wrinkles! I don’t like nor use chemicals on my skin and I never wear makeup but I would like to erase some wrinkles. Could this red light therapy really be the fountain of youth? Let’s look into the facts!
This may sound like biology class but everyone should know the term “Mitochondria” by now. I write a lot about mitochondria in my books and how many people have very damaged mitochondria. The mitochondria is the POWERHOUSE of our cells! It is where energy comes from and where we oxidize fat! You can enhance your mitochondria with intense weight lifting and long distance running. But for those of you who can’t do such strenuous exercise like my husband Craig, red light therapy can help! Red light creates a biochemical affect in our cells that serves to increase mitochondrial function. This improves ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production in the body! Red light therapy “feeds” your cells to increase energy.
Red light therapy = More ATP = more energy!
I wanted to get a red light after researching all the benefits and I found Joovv red light which also has infrared light therapy! This was a win win for me because I do not care for getting really hot in an infrared sauna.
On this Joovv light, you can choose to use only the red light therapy, or the infrared therapy OR BOTH! I always have it on both red and infrared when I use it. Why not right?
Red Light Therapy isn’t a new concept; in 1903 Niels Finsen won the Nobel Prize in Medicine when he used red light to treat lupus and smallpox! In Russia, they use red light therapy in their standard medical care. The FDA has approved red light therapy for wrinkles, hair loss, acne, joint pain, immune function and slow wound healing.
1. Reduces wrinkles and builds collagen in the skin.
When red light penetrates through the epidermal and dermal skin layers which improves circulation which helps form new capillaries. It also increases collagen production and fibroblasts. Red therapy light improves collagen levels naturally by triggering the body to produce more of its own. It is significant because collagen makes up over 70% of the protein in our skin.
Having more collagen doesn’t get rid of wrinkles, it also helps with joint pain!

2. Red light therapy helps heal thyroid damage.
There are numerous fascinating studies that show benefits of red light and near infrared therapy for thyroid health.
A study in 2013 showed a global improvement in thyroid health from red light therapy in addition to infrared therapy. Numerous participants in the study were able to reduce or eliminate thyroid medication. 47% of the participants no longer needed medication for the 9 months of observation after the red light and infrared light therapy study. Considering most doctors tell thyroid patients, they will never be able to get off medication, this is quite awesome!
Another a study in 2003 study on post-surgical thyroid patients doing red light therapy reduced the need for medication by up to 75%!
Also, a study in 2010 study found that red light therapy helped 17% of participants to go completely off medication and another 38% of participants reduce thyroid medication dosage.
3. Helps SKIN in many ways!
Red light therapy has been shown to fade stretch marks and scars as well as even out skin tone!
It helps reduce eczema, rosacea and acne by increasing ATP production and collagen.
It also helps repair the skin from sun damage!

4. Red Light Therapy activates the lymphatic system for increased ability to detoxify.
Red light therapy stimulates lymph system activity and phagocytosis, the process of cellular healing. It also enhances ATP and circulation which helps increase healing during times of illness.

7. Red light therapy helps heal colitis, mouth sores, cold sores and slow healing wounds.
Red therapy light stimulates fibroblasts, which help wound healing and increases circulation for faster wound repair time. Red light therapy helps speed up recovery time for amputations, skin grafts and burns. It’s been successfully used for skin damage caused by cancer treatments, including those in the mouth and mucus membranes.
In a 2014 study, scientists discovered that red light therapy significantly helps mucosal healing which helped heal colitis.
Red light therapy has also been used to heal reoccurring cold sores around the mouth and dentists have been using red therapy lights to heal sores in the mucus membranes of the mouth.
8. Helps lower pain in Lyme Disease patients and lowers pain for carpal tunnel syndrome.
Craig has also been using our Joovv light for his back and neck which have been his primary problem areas with his Lyme pain. We also have a sauna which is great for detoxing but also getting infrared light. But this adds another level of infrared light treatment for his back and he has seen improvements already with reduces pain. And it is easier to do this everyday as you don’t have to shower after.

HOW TO USE RED LIGHT THERAPY
The reason I love this red light therapy is because it is completely safe, there’s no weird chemicals, no weird surgeries and it is affordable! All you need is a few minutes a day!
There are multiple Joovv light options. I have the solo which covers a lot, almost my whole body down to my knees. I have it hanging from the ceiling in my garage so it starts at the top of my head and goes to my knees. Luckily I live way out in the country so I can wear minimal clothes while I lift weights and have my Joovv light penetrating the majority of my skin.
You want to stand 4-6 inches away from the Joovv light. You can choose to use only Red Light, or only Infrared Light OR BOTH! I always do both. You want to start with only a few minutes a day. After a week, you can increase the time you spend at it. I now do 10 minutes on the front of my body and 10 minutes on the back of my body.
