Multiple Eagles players are battling a flu-like illness

Another Patriots Super Bowl appearance, another conspiracy.

Multiple Eagles players are battling the flu ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl against New England.

“I’m getting over it right now. It’s like a cold, dude. I don’t know. The whole team has it, though,” Philly linebacker Mychal Kendricks said Friday before admitting he was exaggerating that everyone on the roster is sick.

He believes the team caught the bug back home and brought it out to Minnesota.

“I don’t think it had anything to do with us being out here. I think it started sometime last week,” Kendricks said. “Something we’ve got to get through.”

Defensive tackle Tim Jernigan and cornerback Ronald Darby, both perennial starters for the Eagles, are also fighting the illness.

They both missed media availability earlier in the week.

Running back Kenjon Barner got over the sickness last week.

Of course, everyone on Twitter has the answer to the bug.

Despite the conspiracies, Hendricks said it’s just “that time of year.”

Maybe, just maybe, it’s bird flu. That would at least explain why Eagles players are the only ones coming down with the illness.
